Please allow me to introduce you to my family. We are the McConnell’s. Transplants from Upstate New York, we now call Hastings, Nebraska Home Sweet Home. This site, My Own Front Porch, is the sister site and blog of Growing Home. Both sites are all about home and family (two topics near and dear to my heart); but each has a different purpose.
Growing Home is for and about all families, packed full of recipes, homemaking tips, articles, homeschool tidbits, photo galleries, etc. It is constantly updated and has lots for you to see and do.
My Own Front Porch is specifically about my family, Pete (Dad), Tammy (Mom), Stephanie (23), Becky (15), Brayton (13), Hannah (12) and Julia (11). It is in blog format, meant for interaction, relationships. You can “catch up with us” and maybe glean some little “nugget of inspiration” from the way we do things.
We’re not perfect, far from it; but we’d love for you to join us on this great adventure as we try to live the way God meant us to.
