‘Tis the season!
Posted in Porch News on 12/27/2009 07:31 pm by Tammy McConnellMerry Christmas all! Just wanted to take a moment and send some Christmas greetings your way from our family.
Considering that I didn’t get ANY Christmas cards out last year, I was pleased as punch to get some letters done last week. Each complete with a photo…we had to take an intermission during our photo shoot! lol! It was fun though.
A HUGE snowstorm forced us to stay in on Christmas day. We would have anyway…except maybe Pete…who seems to possess some sort of magnetic pull from work. He DID help a small team (with several four-wheel drive vehicles) deliver meals to shut-ins and said the blessing for the Christmas meal at Crossroads. We enjoyed a huge meal though…and had fun with Julia’s new karaoke machine. Watch the video below…if you dare! lol!
I connected with my mom, in her house, on Skype Christmas day. What a treat! 1300 miles no longer seems like a terrible distance. It was fun “being home” for Christmas.
I saw a movie on TBN right before Christmas called “The Perfect Gift”. I was so impressed with it that I bought a copy of it for the kids’ collection. It’s an awesome movie about the true meaning of Christmas and how our traditions fit in. Check it out here, The Perfect Gift movie. You’ll be glad you did.

Took this photo of my village (sits atop our entertainment center) and PhotoShopped an outside photo that I took onto the back of it.
Hope you had a nice Christmas filled with family & friends…but keep the Spirit of Christmas in your heart all throughout the new year, remembering the reason for the season.
Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. and this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” Luke 2:8-12 NKJV
